A handmade soap is a soap in its true, pure form. It gently cleanses away excess oils and bacteria, but doesn’t strip your skin of its natural oils. 

Handmade soap is made with lye. Once the lye and oils emulsify and combine, the saponification process begins. This process turns the lye and oil into soap. In the final soap bar, no lye comes in contact with skin because there is no lye in the bar. It is now a soap!
